Named after a line from a Langston Hughes’ poem “Let America Be America Again”, these works on paper use traditional colors and textiles in new combinations, urging us to re-imagine what the United States could look like, reminding us that we have the power to rebuild and transform it into something new. It is a call for America to fulfill it’s original promise — not to return to something that was — but to finally become what it has always had the potential to be.
